COVID-19 POSITIVE TEST RESULTS POLICY

FYSA POLICY: 2122-covid-19_positive_test_result_policy_(1).pdf (fysa.com)

Due to the number of cases of COVID-19 that our community is seeing in children and with schools having varying exposure quarantine times we wanted to reach out to all of our families and explain what our clubs’ policies are, what our plans are to keep the children safe, and how all of us together can do our best to make sure we have a fun and safe season at Puryear Park.

Our clubs quarantine times, while they may be longer or stricter than your school or work, are what we feel comfortable with to try and make sure that we keep everyone safe. We understand if you disagree with the length, but we ask that you all also understand that safety is our number one priority and that we would prefer a child miss an extra practice and further limit the possibility of them getting their teammates sick than returning too soon and having to quarantine an entire team from the park.

If an athlete or coach tests positive for COVID they will be required to stay away from team and park activities for 10 days from the positive test provided no symptoms have developed. If symptomatic(fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, etc) then 14 days or 10 days with a negative test. If a member of a child or coaches household tests positive, but the coach or child remain symptom free and tests negative(after day 5-7), they can return to team activities 10 days from the person that they live with having the positive test.

If a child is placed on a school exposure quarantine, your child cannot return until the schools quarantine is up. We understand that some schools have a wider net for quarantines, but we cannot try and adjust our policies based on every single school that all of our athletes attend, therefore we will go with what your school has implemented for your child. It would be reckless of us to allow you child to come be with a group of kids when your school feels they should not be around a group of other children at school.

We understand this may be frustrating to some, especially if you feel the schools quarantine was unnecessary, but please understand we are being cautious for the safety of you and your child, and all of the families at our park. Safety is, and always be our number one goal.

As a Board, we will be implementing further cleaning and sanitization around the park. We will also be sanitizing bathroom door handles and the concession area more regularly. We also recommend each coach and each player to have their own hand sanitizer to use prior to and during practices and games.

In order to make all of this work we need everyone's help. If someone in the house is sick, please stay home, being cautious when ill will go a long way in keeping the park healthy. If your child or someone in the house tests positive or your child is put on a school quarantine, it is required that you notify your teams manager, coach, or a board member as soon as possible so that we can determine your child's return date to the park and make sure there wasn't a potential exposure to teammates. Your privacy is important to us, and our Board will never share with anyone the details of why someone is away from the team. If a team is exposed, we will notify the team of a possible exposure but your name will be kept out of it. All managers/coaches will be instructed to not share the names of any COVID positive players as well.

This isn't an email we wanted to send and it's not one anyone wanted to read, but it is the world that we live in, and in order to keep our kids safely playing soccer the Board wanted to make sure that everyone knew we are doing the best that we can to stay in front of it and try and make the park as safe as possible.

It's important for the children and all of us to be outside at the park, enjoying soccer and enjoying community with friends, but it's important we do it safely, and we will to the best of our ability. Soccer is the greatest game on earth and safety is the greatest priority for our Board. Everyone working together will allow us to have both of those things together.

Thanks

Board of Directors
